Platzer Manfred

The winery is located in the municipality of Pichla near Tieschen in the Austrian wine-growing region of Vulkanland Steiermark. It is managed by Manfred Platzer. He is assisted by his son Robert, who learned the trade at the viticultural Silberberg learned the trade. The vineyards cover 22 hectares of vines in the Aunberg, Frutten, Klöchberg, Königsberg and Rosenberg vineyards. They are 60% planted with the white wine varieties Welschriesling, Gelber Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Morillon, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder and Gewürztraminer, and 40% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt and St. Laurent. Premium wines are Chardonnay Aunberg, Gewürztraminer and the white wine cuvée Pinot Cuvée (Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Morillon), as well as the red wine cuvées Königsberg and Laudatio (Zweigelt, St. Laurent). Around 130,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Fine brandies are also produced.
