Kahn Odette

The Frenchwoman Odette Kahn (1923-1982) was considered an expert in French gastronomy and wines and acted as a worldwide ambassador in this respect. After studying economics at the famous French school HECJF, she became chief editor and later editor of the two magazines "Cuisine et Vins de France" and "Revue du Vin de France". At the legendary Paris Wine Tasting in 1976, where the myth of the qualitative superiority of French wines over products from the New World was broken, she was one of 11 jurors or wine critics. However, she was dissatisfied with the surprising result, explicitly distanced herself from it and even accused the English wine dealer and organizer Steven Spurrier of manipulation.
