The Frenchwoman Odette Kahn (1923-1982) was considered an expert on French gastronomy and wines and acted as a global ambassador. After studying economics at the famous French school HECJF, she became editor-in-chief and later editor of the two magazines "Cuisine et Vins de France" and "Revue du Vin de France". At the legendary Paris Wine Tasting in 1976, where the myth of the qualitative superiority of French wines over products from the New World was broken, she acted as one of the 11 jurors and wine critics. However, she was dissatisfied with the surprising result, expressly distanced herself from it and even accused the English wine merchant and organiser Steven Spurrier (1941-2021) of manipulation.
