Jesuitenhof

The winery is located in the municipality of Dirmstein (Mittelhaart/Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The traditional farm has been family-owned since 1803. The farmstead is a former Jesuit monastery with several listed buildings. The estate also includes Quadt'sche Schloss, which is occupied by Uli Schneider and his family. He manages the agricultural part of the farm. The wine and sparkling wine estate in its current form was founded in 1986 by Andrea and Klaus Schneider. They are assisted by their son Moritz, who is studying viticulture at the Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences after completing his training with top Palatinate winemakers. The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Herrgottsacker, Jesuitenhofgarten (in sole ownership) and Mandelpfad (Dirmstein), as well as Steinbuckel (Laumersheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Auxerrois, Silvaner and Gewürztraminer, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Portugieser and Schwarzriesling. Great importance is attached to environmentally friendly, sustainable cultivation and gentle vinification. The white wines are matured in steel tanks, the red wines in large wooden barrels or in barriques. They also produce bottle-fermented sparkling wines and spirits (wine, marc).
