Honivogl

Former reed (site) or vineyard in the municipality of Spitz a. d. Donau in the Lower Austrian wine growing region Wachau. It was located at the foot of the Singerriedel, part of it projecting into the adjacent Axpoint. The south-facing vineyards consist of gneiss-mica-slate-weathered soils with a layer of brown earth. Only the Grüner Veltliner variety is cultivated here. The Hirtzberger Franz Winery uses "Honivogl" as a brand name for a Grüner Veltliner. See also under Honifogl.
