Honivogl

Former vineyard (Lage) or vineyard in the municipality of Spitz a. d. Donau in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wachau. It was located at the foot of the Singerriedel, part of which protrudes into the adjacent Axpoint. The south-facing vineyards consist of gneiss-mica-slate weathered soils with a layer of brown earth. Only the Grüner Veltliner variety is cultivated here. The Hirtzberger Franz winery uses "Honivogl" as a brand name for a Grüner Veltliner. However, this wine must not be confused with the former area brand name Honifogl.
