The "Weingut & Hofbrennerei Hiestand" is located in the municipality of Guntersblum (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. In the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War, the family, which came from Switzerland, came to Rheinhessen, where they have now been growing grapes for several generations. Today, the family business is owned by Erich and Berthilde Hiestand, and their son Gunther Hiestand is responsible for the cellar. The vineyards cover eleven hectares of vines in the single vineyards Bornpfad, Eiserne Hand, Kreuzkapelle and Steinberg (Guntersblum), as well as Schloss Hammerstein (Albig). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red wine varieties Portugieser, Dornfelder and Schwarzriesling.
