The winery is located in the municipality of Hainfeld (area Südliche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Pfalz. The family business is run by Lothar and Annemarie Hagenbuch, who are supported by their two sons. Tobias Hagenbuch is responsible for vineyard management and sales, Stefan Hagenbuch for cellar management. The vineyards comprise 15 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Kapelle and Kirchenstück (Hainfeld), as well as Rosengarten (Edesheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Morio-Muscat and Gelber Muskateller, as well as the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Dornfelder. Natural viticulture is practiced. Quality criteria are vine pruning, sustainable care of soil fertility, exact foliage care, strict yield reduction and grape selection during the grape harvest. According to the philosophy of the house, we only intervene in the vinification process where it is essential for maintaining quality. The red wines are classically macerated. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are aged in temperature-controlled steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or in barriques. The best wines are bottled using glass corks.
