The winery is located in the municipality of Hainfeld (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of
Pfalz. The family business is run by Lothar and Annemarie Hagenbuch, who are supported by their two sons. Tobias Hagenbuch is responsible for vineyard management and sales, Stefan Hagenbuch for cellar management. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Kapelle and Kirchenstück (Hainfeld), as well as Rosengarten (Edesheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Morio-Muskat and Gelber Muskateller, as well as with the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Dornfelder. Natural viticulture is practised. Quality criteria are pruning,
sustainable care of soil fertility, precise
foliage management, strict yield reduction and grape selection during harvest. According to the philosophy of the house, vinification is only intervened in where it is essential to maintain quality. The red wines are classically macerated. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are matured in temperature-controlled steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or in barriques. The best wines are bottled using
glass corks.
