furry

A description for a flavour impression in the context of a wine description or wine evaluation, which can be positive or negative in the context of the description. This is usually a typical characteristic of tannin-emphasised wines. However, a furry tone can also signify a wine defect. This effect also occurs with over-sulphurised and creamy wines. Related terms are astringent, sulphurous and dull.
