The winery is located in the municipality of Escherndorf (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. A guesthouse with guest rooms is attached. The owners Clemens and Ingrid Fröhlich started in 1987 with half a hectare. Today, the vineyards cover over five hectares of vines in the single vineyards Karthäuser (Astheim), Berg, Fürstenberg and Lump (Escherndorf). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Morio-Muskat, Kerner, Ortega and Bacchus, as well as the red wine varieties Spätburgunder and Domina. The wines are fermented in a cool place with pure yeasts and vinified Franconian dry (i.e. with a maximum of 4 g/l residual sugar) or semi-dry. A sparkling wine is also produced. In years with suitable weather conditions, an ice wine is also produced. Fine brandies (marc, yeast, grapes, fruit from one hectare of fruit trees) are produced in the in-house distillery.
