Dutch journalist and wine author Hubrecht Duijker (*1942) began writing about wine in 1969. He subsequently published over 40 books and brochures in several languages. Well-known works are, for example, "Wine - A Journey of Discovery for Connoisseurs" (together with Dagmar Ehrlich) and "Atlas of French Wines" (together with Hugh Johnson). Subsequently, there were many television appearances, for example "Koken met Sterren" (Cooking with Stars). Duijker received many awards such as Officier de l'Ordre du Mérite agricole (France), Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Award, the Literary Award of the Académie du Vin de Bordeaux, Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau and Honorary Citizenship of Margaux.
