Cisterna d'Asti

DOC area for red wine in the Italian region of Piedmont. The zone includes the municipalities of Antignano, Cantarana, Cisterna d'Asti, Ferrere, San Damiano d'Asti and San Martino Alfieri in the province of Asti, and the municipalities of Canale, Castellinaldo, Govone, Montà, Monteu Roero, Santo Stefano Roero and Vezza d'Alba in the province of Cuneo. The red wine (also known as Superiore) is produced from at least 80% Croatina and a maximum of 20% other authorised varieties.
