The winery is located in the town of Almendralejo (Badajoz province) in the DO Ribera del Guadiana in the Spanish region of Extremadura. It was founded in 1931 by Marcelino Díaz Sánchez and is now run by his son Marcelino Díaz González. He restructured the vineyards in the 1980s. He was instrumental in the development of the quality wine standard and in the elevation of the area to DO. The vineyards cover 100 hectares of vineyards in the areas of Ahorca, Asiento, El Campillo, El Friadal, Malpica and Tenderas in the main subzone Tierra de Barros. The red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Graciano and Tempranillo are cultivated, as well as the white wine varieties Macabeo and Pardina. The wines are marketed under the labels "Bonser" and "Puerta Palma". The red wines are aged in American oak barriques. A Cava is also produced.
