The winery is located in the municipality of Sondrio (province of Sondrio) in the Italian region of Lombardy. It was founded in 1860 and revived in 1984 by Arturo Pelizzatti Perego under its current name. Today it is run in the fifth family generation by the three siblings Isabella, Emanuele and Guido Pelizzatti Perego. In 2010/2011, the rebuilt cellar and a new office building with tasting room were put into operation. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vines in three sub-areas: Sassella (9.5 ha), Grumello (4.5 ha) and Inferno (1 ha). They are 100% planted with the Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo) grape variety. Around 10% of the grapes are bought in from other winegrowers. The environmentally friendly cultivation follows the rules of integrated agriculture.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
