The
winegrowers' cooperative is located in the municipality of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in the German
wine-growing region of
Ahr. The association, rich in tradition, was already founded in 1874. The managing director and cellar master is Dipl. Ing. Edgar Bertram, the field manager is viticulture technician Lukas Schmitz, and the cellar technician responsible is viticulture technician Florian Schreier. Stephan Esser is in charge of sales. The vineyards of the 76 members cover a total of about 27 hectares of vineyards, among others in the single vineyards
Daubhaus and
Rosenthal (Ahrweiler). The red wine varieties Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Frühburgunder (Pinot Noir), Portugieser (Portuguese), Dornfelder (Dornfelder) and Regent (Regent) are cultivated and processed to 85%, and the white wine varieties Riesling, Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Müller-Thurgau to 15%. Depending on the type, the wines are matured in steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or in barriques. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies (yeast, marc, wine, fruit) are also produced.
