The winery is located in the municipality of Gensingen (Bingen area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. Viticulture has been practised in this traditional family since 1808. Today, the winery is already managed by the fifth and sixth generation with the following distribution of responsibilities: Father Hans-Wilhelm Laubenstein is responsible for the external economy, mother Jutta for the contract bottling and daughter Sandra (technician in the department of viticulture and cellar management) for the wine development.

The vineyards cover 45 hectares of vines in the single vineyard Goldberge (Gensingen). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Kerner, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Morio-Muskat and Sauvignon Blanc, among others, as well as with the red wine varieties Dornfelder, Blauer Portugieser, Pinot Noir, Domina, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Frühburgunder, Cabernet Dorsa and St. Laurent. Quality-enhancing measures in the vineyard include reduced pruning in spring, intensive foliage care in summer with defoliation of the grape zone and green harvesting with the removal of diseased grapes and those that are lagging behind in ripeness. Most of the harvest is done with a modern harvesting machine that separates the grapes from the stalks already in the vineyard.
