The winery is located in the municipality of Senheim (Burg Cochem area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. It was founded in 2001 by Stefanie Vornhecke, who also serves as cellar master. Two holiday flats are attached. The vineyards cover two hectares of vines mainly in the single vineyard sites Lay and Wahrsager (Senheim), which are planted with Riesling and Pinot Noir. Quality criteria in the vineyard are low yields and a late and selective hand harvest of the grapes. The wines are matured with long yeast storage with the aim of longevity. The product range includes different Rieslings from dry to sweet, which are vinified in the lines "Grauschiefer" (estate Rieslings in different flavours), Prädikats and site wines (Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese), as well as "Sternstunden für Weingenießer" (different constellation names such as Cassiopeia). Furthermore, a dry red wine, bottle-fermented sparkling wines and a Riesling pomace brandy are also produced. Around 10,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
