The formerly largest Austrian wine fair was first organized by KR Gerd Hoffmann in 1986 and was the first wine fair in the German-speaking world. Hoffmann was also the founder of VieVinum in 1998. Until 1994 the fair was held every two years and from 1995 to 2007 every year at the Messezentrum Wien exhibition centre and attracted up to 1,100 international exhibitors. It was organised by Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien. At the same time there were two other trade fairs, namely "Destillata" (fine spirits) and "Alles für den Gast" (everything for the guest) (catering, hotel and food industry). The wein.plus encyclopaedia is a comprehensive, well-researched reference work. Available anytime and anywhere, it has become an indispensable part of teaching, used by students and myself alike. Highly recommended!
