The traditional Jost family has been growing grapes in Bacharach on the Middle Rhine(Germany) since 1831. Through the grandmother's branch of the family, the Rheingau vineyards in Walluf and Martinsthal have been in the family for over 200 years. Through the marriage to the then estate owner Toni Jost, the land came into the family and under the management of the Hahnenhof in 1953. As a tribute to Toni Jost, the tradition of naming the farm after the respective owner was broken. In 1975, the farm was taken over by Peter Jost; today it is run by the seventh generation of the family, Cecilia Jost.

Two wineries in two growing regions

The vineyards cover a total of 15 hectares of vines in the two German wine-growing regions of Mittelrhein and Rheingau, where the winery is a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
