The winery is located in the municipality of Dobermannsdorf near Poysdorf in the north-east of the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. The family has been growing grapes since 1686. In 1970, Leopold and Marianne Schulz converted the farm to quality viticulture. Since 2002, it has been run by their son Werner. The vineyards cover six hectares. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (30%), Pinot Blanc (10%), Welschriesling (10%), Rheinriesling (5%) and Rivaner (4%), as well as with the red wine varieties Zweigelt (16%), Blauburger (12%), Cabernet Sauvignon (9%) and Merlot (4%). In addition, grapes are purchased from one hectare. Natural viticulture with low yields is consistently practised. The Classic white wines are fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. This includes, for example, the "Weinviertel DAC Hammer". The Selections wines are matured according to international style with the use of barriques and malolactic. The red wines mature for at least one year in large wooden barrels or the premium wines for 16 or 24 months in barriques. In suitable years, an ice wine is also produced. The annual production is around 300 hl. A red wine liqueur is also produced.
