Schmidt Frank & Lukas

The winery is located in Middle Franconia's largest wine village Bullenheim (area Wine Paradise Franconia) in the German wine-growing region Franconia. A wine tavern with regional cuisine called "Johannesstuben" is attached. The farm is run by Frank Schmidt and his son Lukas. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vines in the single vineyard Bullenheimer Paradies at the southern foothills of the Steigerwald. They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Scheurebe and Traminer, as well as with the red wine varieties Domina, Dornfelder, Regent, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Dorsa. The premium wines include the red wines Spätburgunder Premium, Regent Premium and Cabernet Dorsa Premium, which are vinified from yield-reduced grapes (50 hl/ha) and aged for 12 months in barriques. In years with suitable weather conditions, Trockenbeerenauslese and ice wines are also vinified. In addition, bottle-fermented sparkling wines, secco and noble brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of the Vielfalter association.
