DOC area for red wine in the Italian region of Piedmont. The zone on the south bank of the Po River covers the entire municipality of Gabiano, including Cantavenna, Moncestino and Villamiroglio, as well as the municipality of Castel San Pietro Monferrato (Camino) in the province of Alessandria. The vineyards of this small area cover only about ten hectares of vines. The wine is made from Barbera (75-90%), as well as Freisa and/or Grignolino (max. 25%).
