Producer description of "Bodegas Roda"

The winery "Bodegas Roda" is located in the city of Haro in the heart of the Spanish Rioja sub-region . It was founded in 1987 by the Rotllant-Daurella family, who have been in the wine trade for a long time. From the very beginning they have been oriented towards the highest quality standards. The vineyards cover 60 hectares of vineyards, most of which were replanted with the classic Rioja varieties Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta, Graciano and Mazuelo at the beginning of the 1990s. The vines are too young for first-class Riojas, so they will not be used until 2010 to 2015 at the earliest, and the grapes will be sold to other producers for the time being. The first wine production took place in 1991, but due to the unsatisfactory quality it never reached the market. In the following year 1992, knowing the mistakes made before, they really only bought the best and oldest vintage of Rioja. In this way, absolutely exceptional qualities were achieved.
