Polarimeter

This is used to measure the optical activity or the rotation value of a solution. The instrument is usually made up of two prisms. A frequently used type is the penumbral polarimeter according to Lippich. With residual sweet wines, it is used to measure the ratio of glucose (grape sugar) and fructose (fruit sugar).
