The winery is located in the municipality of Leutesdorf in the German Mittelrhein wine growing region. Herrmann Ockenfels ran the viticulture on his 1.3 hectares for many years next to his butcher's shop. In 1994 he gave up the business and devoted himself fully to his vines. Today his daughter Beate runs the business. The vineyards cover 3.5 hectares of vines in the Leutesdorf steep slopes Forstberg, Gartenlay and Rosenberg. They are planted with the varieties Riesling (1.9 ha), Pinot Blanc, Regent, Pinot Noir, Kerner, Müller-Thurgau, Dornfelder and Blauer Portugieser. They also produce Riesling sparkling wine, wine yeast brandy and wood barrel matured Riesling marc brandy.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
