The winery is located in the municipality of Erbach in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau. It is run by Heinz and Helga Nikolai, the fifth generation of the family, and their son Frank is responsible for the cellar. The vineyards cover eleven hectares in the single vineyard sites Honigberg, Michelmark and Steinmorgen (Erbach), Jungfer (Hallgarten), and Sandgrub (Kiedrich). They are planted with 85% Riesling, as well as some Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. The Rieslings are generally vinified in steel tanks. The Pinot Noir matures in oak barrels after mash fermentation. In suitable years, Trockenbeerenauslese and ice wines are also vinified.
