Morandell

The Austrian wine company with headquarters in Wörgl (Tyrol) was founded in 1926 by Alois and Anna Morandell. Today it is managed in the third generation by Kommerzialrat Peter and Mag. Rudolf Morandell and is still 100% family-owned. Christoph and Mario Morandell, the future managing directors, have been working in leading positions in the company for years. This ensures the continued existence of the family business in the fourth generation. For almost a century, the company has maintained intensive trade relations with the most renowned wineries in Europe. We also bottle wines ourselves. In 1948 Morandell was one of the first Austrian wine houses to enter the export business. In 1955, the company started importing beer specialities from Czechoslovakia (Budweiser, Pilsner, Urquell) and Germany (Löwenbräu) and in 1986, the Bierimport GmbH was founded. A total of 200 employees work at several locations in Austria.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
