The winery is located in Avinyonet del Penedés in the DO area of Penedès in the Spanish region of Catalonia. It is an old farmhouse near an old Roman tower, which was built in the 2nd century. There are still remains of this tower, which was used to observe the Arabs. The name Mas Comtal means "Count's Court" and goes back to the ancestral home of the Counts of Barcelona, to which the farm belonged at the beginning of the 11th century. Since the end of the 15th century, the estate has been owned by the Milà family, which has borne this name since the middle of the 19th century. The cultivation of vines on this estate can be traced back to prehistoric times. In 1993, the brothers Joan Milà, a renowned oenologist, and Albert started a new era in the production of quality wines. The vineyards cover 40 hectares of vines and are cultivated in a natural way according to ecological guidelines.
