Mark wine

Colloquial term (without legal wine significance) for wines with a certain flavor direction or a wine style with characteristic, distinctive typicity. In the course of globalization, they are gaining more importance. Characteristic is a taste profile that is independent of the vintage and is almost always the same, designed and produced exactly according to consumer wishes.

Not infrequently, branded wines are therefore referred to by wine connoisseurs in a somewhat derogatory manner due to their uniform taste as Coca-Cola wines (McDonald's wines). However, this does not necessarily mean a lower quality of the product a priori, but usually, they are not absolute top wines, as these products must be positioned in the lower price segment to reach the large masses. Often, both the origin and the grape variety take a back seat, although the latter can also mean a certain brand definition.
