The winery is located in the municipality of Leiwen (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle wine region. The family has been growing wine for over 400 years. It is managed by Ernst-Albrecht Loersch, his son Alexander, a trained viticulture technician, has been responsible for the development of the wines since 2000. A guest house is attached. The vineyards cover four hectares of vineyards in the locations Klostergarten (Leiwen), Altärchen and Apotheke (Trittenheim), Hofberger (Dhron) and Goldtröpfchen (Piesport). The main variety cultivated is the Riesling, as well as small quantities of Pinot Noir and Rivaner. Natural viticulture is practiced. The quality criteria are low yields, selective harvesting and reductive, aroma-protecting development. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble spirits (marc, yeast, fruit, berries) are also produced.
