The family-run winery is located in the municipality of Iphofen (Steigerwald area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. It is located directly on the Herrengraben, the historic, fully preserved rampart and defence system of Iphofen. The main house was built in 1742, the historic vaulted cellar as early as 1650. The winery was originally founded in 1742 by the monks of the Carthusian monastery of Ilmbach, from which the name Ilmbacher Hof is derived. It remained in their possession until 1803. The estate was then acquired by the Fröhlich family in 1865.

Ilmbacher Hof - Innenhof und Besitzerpaar

A vinotheque and the event location "KarthäuserEventScheune" are operated in a former, remodelled barn. Both serve as venues for conferences, weddings, wine taverns, concerts and dance events. Today, the business is run by the sixth generation of the family, Thomas Fröhlich (trained banker, business economist and DJ Vinyl only) and his wife Andrea (photographer, manager of the event location).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
