The winery is located in the municipality of Röttingen (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. The family has been involved in winegrowing for a very long time, but it is only since 1991 that the products have been marketed themselves. A guest house and a hedge inn are attached. The farm is run by Alois Hofmann. Son Jürgen completed his training as a winemaker in Geisenheim and in practice at the Fürst Rudolf winery (Bürgstadt), and since 2001 he has been responsible for the vinification.

The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Feuerstein (Röttingen) in the Franconia growing region, and Propstberg (Markelsheim) in the Württemberg growing region. They are 60% planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Bacchus and Müller-Thurgau, and 40% with the red wine varieties Spätburgunder, Schwarzriesling, Domina, Tauberschwarz, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The white wines are matured in steel tanks, the red wines in traditional large wooden barrels, and the high-quality Pinot Noir and Tauberschwarz wines in barrique barrels for up to 22 months.
