The winery is located at Schloss Monrepos near Ludwigsburg (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. The wine-growing tradition in Württemberg dates back to the 13th century. However, the actual foundation did not take place until 1677 with the establishment of the "Kammerschreiberei-Kellerei" in Untertürkheim. From the middle of the 17th century to the end of the 19th century, the House of Württemberg acquired seven of the best vineyard sites in the country. The modern winery, completed in 1981, is located in the romantic park of Monrepos Palace. The Schlosshotel Monrepos with 81 rooms, ultra-modern function rooms and the "Gutsschenke" restaurant as well as a golf course are located in the immediate vicinity.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
