Herrnbaumgarten

Wine-growing municipality in the north-east of the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. The Czech border is ten kilometres to the north. The village of Herrnbaumgarten has become famous in recent years mainly due to the "Association for the Utilisation of Surplus Thoughts". In addition to many other curiosities, there is a "24-hour vineyard snail race". Around a dozen winegrowers in the municipality have joined together to form the "Vinetum" brand association. In 1995, the "Association for the Preservation and Revitalisation of Cellar Lanes" was formed. Among other things, natural stone walls and decorative lanterns were erected. In spring 2005, the "verruckte Vinothek" was opened, where a different winegrower always presents their products.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
