The winery is located in the municipality of Dernau in the German wine-growing region of Ahr. It was founded by Hermann-Josef Kreuzberg, his two sons David and Michel Kreuzberg, and Joern Heiner. The vineyards cover eight hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Pfarrwingert (Dernau), Trotzenberg (Marienthal), Schieferlay (Neuenahr) as well as Rosenthal and Silberberg (Ahrweiler). They are 85% planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Riesling. The red wines are fermented spontaneously and aged in large wooden barrels or barriques. Some of them are bottled without filtration. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. If interested, wine walks are organised.
