Grea

A custom ploughed in the west of the Austrian Weinviertel wine-growing region, which is celebrated on Easter Monday. In earlier times the winegrowers thanked their employees and harvest helpers for their cooperation last autumn by offering them a hearty snack at the first green. The dialectal name "Grea(n)" is derived from the "green". In some municipalities, the winegrowers have opened their cellars.
