Grape acid

Racemic (optically inactive) mixture of levorotatory and dextrorotatory molecules of tartaric acid. Dextrorotatory tartaric acid and also the racemate grape acid can only be produced artificially. In nature, only dextrorotatory (and optically active) tartaric acid occurs. See also under acids.
