Producer description of "Weingut Frieden-Berg"

The winery is located in the municipality of Nittel (Upper Moselle area) in the German wine region. The family has been involved in winegrowing for several generations. Today it is managed by Horst Frieden. A tavern and a guest house are attached. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards in the Leiterchen and Rochusfels (Nittel) areas. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Auxerrois, Elbling, Pinot Gris, Kerner and Müller-Thurgau, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. The winegrowing is carried out in a near-natural way with, for example, the use of exclusively organic fertilizers. In suitable years also noble sweet predicate wines like Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein are pressed. We also produce bottle-fermented sparkling wines, noble spirits (yeast, marc, fruit) and liqueurs.
