Eleventh Fair

A term commonly used in Austria to describe a visit to a Heurigen or inn at 11:00 in the morning. This jokingly equates a visit to a local pub with a visit to a church or with the Holy Mass that usually begins at 10:00 am. In this respect there is also the joking expression: "Someone goes to that mass (tavern or Heurigen) where you ring together with the glasses". This refers to the Holy Consecration, where the bells are rung.
