General description of a wine in the context of a wine address. It has relatively little alcohol and body and usually also has a pale colour. With a white wine this can be quite positive if it is enjoyed on a suitable occasion or with a harmonious dish. As a rule, a wine with an alcohol content of up to 11% by volume is considered light. Related terms are filigree and slim. The opposite of light is heavy.
