Dyer's grape

German synonym for the red grape variety Teinturier du Cher, the original vine of all Teinturiers (dyer's grapes). In the German-speaking world, however, this is also the usual and general term for the internationally used French term Teinturier (see there). These are many different grape varieties that are used for the production of colouring cover red wine. See also under anthocyanins.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
