The vineyard is located in the commune of Labarde in the Margaux area of the Médoc (Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux). It was last classified as a "Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel" in the Bordeaux classification according to the old system in 2003. The origins of the ancient estate date back to 1428, when a Guilhem de Siran is named as the owner. There have been numerous subsequent owners, including the great-grandparents of the painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901). The estate has been owned by the Miailhe family since 1858. In 2007, William Alain and Brigitte Miailhe handed over the business, which they had managed since 1978, to their son Edouard Miailhe, who is now the fifth generation to run it. Hubert de Bouard (oenologist), Jean-Luc Chevalier (vineyards) and Marjolaine Defrance (cellar technology) are responsible for production.
