The farm is located in the municipality of Kirchscheidungen in the German Saale-Unstrut growing region. The farm can look back on 300 years of history. Since 1990 the family has been running the farm again as independent farmers and winegrowers in their main occupation. After the cellar was newly equipped with modern stainless steel tanks, all wines have been vinified by the family themselves since the 1994 vintage. The vineyards have been extended by a part of the former Schulenburg vineyard (the house location in Schloss Burgscheidungen). The vineyards cover nine hectares of vineyards in the sites Veitsgrube (Burgscheidungen) and Rappental (Dorndorf). They are planted with the white wine varieties Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Riesling, Kerner, Gutedel and Traminer, as well as the red wine varieties Dornfelder, Pinot Noir, Portugieser and Frühburgunder. The vineyard is cultivated close to nature. The wines are traditionally vinified dry, in a single vineyard and with a single variety. The white wines are vinified with a pure tone and low tannin content. The red wines are made according to the classic mash fermentation method. The reductive ageing in stainless steel tanks produces young, fresh and tangy wines.
