The winery is located in the municipality of Höflein in the Carnuntum wine-growing region of Lower Austria. The family has been growing grapes here since 1752. Today, the traditional winery is run by the sixth generation of siblings, Hannes and Doris Zwickelstorfer. Doris discovered her love of wine at the "Willamet Valley Vineyards" in Oregon and gained further experience by working abroad in Argentina at the "Diminio del Plata" and South African "Kaapzicht" wineries. Hannes practised in Californian, French and Spanish cellars after viticultural school. The aim of the two is to continue the viticulture established by their father Johann in its most original form.
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
