The red grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Zinfandel x Cynthiana (Norton). It contains genes from Vitis aestivalis and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 2001 in the USA by grower Lucian W. Dressel. No stock was recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
