The winery is located in the town of Klosterneuburg in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wagram. The newly renovated cellar largely dates back to the 15th century, and there is also a vinotheque here. The property also includes a very well-known Heuriger in Wien-Döbling. The vineyards cover eight hectares of vineyards on Vienna's Nußberg (2 ha) and in the Klosterneuburger Riede Buchberg (6 ha). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Chardonnay, Welschriesling and Sauvignon Blanc. For the red wines, 20% of which are produced, Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt grapes are purchased from the Burgenland municipality of Neckenmarkt in Mittelburgenland. The premium wines include, for example, Grüner Veltliner Kabinett and Sauvignon Blanc Kabinett (Wagram), as well as Blaufränkisch (Mittelburgenland). Around 80,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. For the production of the "Charpentier Brut" sparkling wine and the "Zimmermann Brut" frizzante, purchased grapes from Straning in the Weinviertel (Lower Austria) are used. Fine brandies are also produced.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
