The winery is located in the municipality of Dresden-Pillnitz in the German wine growing region of Saxony. It was founded in 1992 and is managed by Klaus Zimmerling. The vineyards comprise four hectares of vineyards in the Königlicher Weinberg (Pillnitz) single vineyard location. They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Kerner, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc and Traminer, as well as Pinot Noir. The nature-orientated, environmentally friendly cultivation is carried out according to ecological rules with, among other things, no use of pesticides (including herbicides). Great importance is attached to low yields; even in high-yield years, no more than 30 hectolitres per hectare are harvested

The top of the quality pyramid comprises wines from different varieties from the Royal Vineyard, classified as "VDP Grosse Lage" according to the VDP classification. In years with suitable weather conditions, an ice wine (Traminer) is also pressed. Bottled sparkling wine (Pinot Noir) and balsamic vinegar (Gewürztraminer) are also produced. A special feature are the bottle labels, which show aesthetic sculptures created by the wife of the owner Malgorzata Chodakowska. The winery has been a member of the VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) since the beginning of 2010.
