Zero point adjustment

The zero point is the starting point of a scale, to which all further points are related by specifying the amount and sign. These are, for example, for altitude, the sea level, for temperature, the absolute zero point, the freezing point of water or the different boiling point of water depending on the air pressure. In viticulture, a zero point adjustment is required for certain measuring instruments for the purpose of wine analysis; see analytical testing.
