Zeltinger Sonnenuhr

single vineyard in the municipality of Zeltingen (Mosel); see under sundial.

Sonnenuhr

Popular single-vineyard designation in the German Moselle wine-growing region, where it occurs six times in the municipalities of Brauneberg, Maring-Noviand, Neumagen, Pommern, Wehlen and Zeltingen. The name refers in part to the sundials found in the vineyards and presumably also to the sunny conditions.

Neumagen-Piesport (Bernkastel)

This south-south-west facing vineyard is one of the smallest in Germany. It comprises only 0.38 hectares of vineyards with exclusively Riesling on stony, loamy clay-slate weathered soil. The vineyard is monopolised by the Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt winery.

Pommern (Cochem Castle)

The south-facing vineyards with 15 to 60% slopes cover 19 hectares of vines. The stony greywacke weathered soils with a high proportion of fine earth are mainly used to cultivate Riesling. The Fuchs Reinhold, Schneiders MoritzSchneiders...
