Zeltinger Sonnenuhr

single vineyard in the municipality of Zeltingen (Mosel); see under sundial.

Sonnenuhr

Popular single-vineyard designation in the German Mosel wine-growing region, where it occurs six times in the municipalities of Brauneberg, Maring-Noviand, Neumagen, Pommern, Wehlen and Zeltingen. The name refers in part to sundials present in the sites and probably also to the sunny conditions.

Neumagen-Piesport (Bernkastel)

This south-southwest facing vineyard is one of the smallest in Germany. It comprises only 0.38 hectares of vines planted exclusively with Riesling on stony, loamy clay-slate weathered soil. The site is monopolistically owned by the Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt winery.

Pommern (Cochem Castle)

The south-facing vineyards with 15 to 60% slopes cover 19 hectares of vines. On the stony greywacke weathered soils with a high proportion of fine earth, mainly Riesling is cultivated. The wineries Fuchs Reinhold, Schneiders...
