The family winery is located in the municipality of Sulzfeld (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. In 1970, the former tithe farm dating back to 1558 was acquired by Theo Luckert. Today, the farm is run by the brothers Ulrich and Wolfgang Luckert and their families.
The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Maustal and Sonnenberg as well as Berg I (a prime piece in the single vineyard Cyriakusberg). These are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner with the four varieties Gelber, Grüner, Roter and Blauer Silvaner (50% of the stock), Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Bl anc and Muskateller (Muscat Bl anc), as well as with the red wine varieties Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Domina, Frühburgunder, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. A small vineyard called Creutz is planted with ancient ungrafted vines dating back to 1875. In order to reduce yields, all vines are trained in the cordon system. All vineyards are naturally greened. In 2013, the complete conversion to organic (ecological) cultivation was completed.
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".Prof. Dr. Walter Kutscher
