Zaire

The red grape variety is a new cross between Grand Noir de la Calmette x João Santarém (Castelão Francês). The crossing was made in Portugal by the breeder José Leão Ferreira de Almeida at the national research center near Lisbon. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
