Zaire

The red grape variety is a new cross between Grand Noir de la Calmette x João Santarém (Castelão Francês). The cross was made in Portugal by grower José Leão Ferreira de Almeida at the national research centre near Lisbon. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
