The winery in the 23rd district of Liesing in the Mauer district is located in the south of the Austrian capital Vienna. Attached to it is the family-owned Heuriger, which has already been awarded the "Eco-label for Tourism" several times. The farm is run by Richard Zahel. The vineyards cover 25 hectares in the main area of Maurerberg in the Roth-Dürren and Leiten vineyards, on Nußberg in the Preußen, Rosengartl and Langteufel vineyards on the slopes to the Danube, as well as in Oberlaa on the Laaerberg. About 60% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc, and 40% with the red wine varieties St. Laur ent, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which are very high for Vienna. In addition, genetically valuable vine material of the rare varieties Orangetraube and Roter Riesling is cultivated in our own model vineyards. The vineyards are consistently cultivated according to ecological principles, which is symbolised by a butterfly in the winery logo.
